Why This Story Matters
Valentine's Day explores the duality of suicide, reminding us that two people can experience the same night in completely different ways. While one person may appear outwardly okay, another may be quietly carrying a weight no one else can see. The film challenges our assumptions about what someone in crisis "looks like" and invites us to lead with curiosity, compassion, and connection.
At its heart, Valentine's Day is also a reminder that a single conversation can change the course of someone's day, or even their life. Through one unexpected encounter between strangers, the film shows how choosing to stay, listen, and connect can make all the difference.
Like all of our work at A Light in Dark Places, this film was created to encourage open conversations around mental health and suicide prevention through the power of storytelling.
